I haven't gone on a real vacation in a very long time. When I go away I like to make it an experience of learning something new, bathing myself in the cultures, foods, language. At this point I'd go anywhere, but given a choice and the money to do it, I'd love to go to England - for about 3 weeks. I think it would take three weeks to see most of the places I've read about for years.
Since I've read so many English Gothic novels, I want to see the medieval castles, the heather on the moors. Imagine traveling back in time. Heathcliff......Catherine.......
The Yorkshire countryside farms James Herriott wrote about in All Creatures Great and Small; the poetry of the Lake District, Hill Top - home of Beatrix Potter, and Lake Windermere!
There are so many other places I have neatly tucked into the back of my brain. Not to mention if we throw in Scotland or a quick trip across the Chunnel to see Paris. When I finally get to take this trip, I will have a seriously prepared itinerary with NO time to spare! I can't wait!!
